ENTRY ONE - POEM - UNTITLED

A classroom love sets hearts aflame
A fire that can no longer be tame
A timeless classic of love so true
That melts in time as the bell rings through

A second or a day, it never lasted any longer
It's merely the story of a child and a locker
They keep their love and are close for a year
But once they're done, they shed not a tear...

ENTRY TWO - HAIKU - "Memories End"

School days full of joy,
Laughter in silent classrooms,
A year has ended...

ENTRY THREE - POEM - Snow Escape

The cold outside burns our skin
Yet there's a fire inside to escape
For while school is warm within,
It's far more tedious than the snowscape...

ENTRY FOUR - POEM -Beginning

History repeats, even if known
For tribal trifles remain in cliques alone
The weakest is thrown to the wild,
This is the feelings of a first year child.

ENTRY FIVE - POEM - Long Lost Friend

It had been a year,
Filled with fear
And in an hour or so,
With hopes so low,
I found that you were here.

We sat together,
Each year, forever,
Grade one and two,
Always with you,
Until it felt like never...

Never would I see your face,
Never again would we race
But then summer ended,
And though others I had befriended...
You will always be my favorite case.

ENTRY SIX - BLURBY THING - Lunch Horror

It wasn't that hard to understand the bizarre cafeteria if you knew the town well. Not only was it a full school of kindergarten through the end of high school years, but there were quite a number of different diets and eating styles- so it was natural that the lunch line often felt a mile long in terms of the amount of things available. But to a human, it was never easy to get used to. No, it was impossible. How could you just sit there while I five year old was gathering...worms?

Smiling as she found a seat, Chika Psyren- a five year old of the Siren variety- stared at a plate of birdseed and worms that she'd been packed by her mother that day. Mealworms, the best in the world to the young humanoid girl that had only a difference of some tail feathers peeking out her shirt. She may have had a bit of a pushed out lip, but she was generally just a normal little girl. But somehow, Chika had this idea that mealworms were delicious. Many non-aviary creatures in the room couldn't even try to watch as she began to swallow one whole.

Then again, she wasn't the only weirdo in the lunchroom. At another table, right next to her human best friend, Heidi Nokasa had placed her head on the table and was dumping food directly into her throat. She chattered away as her body forced food into her without a single taste for her to enjoy, blabbering nonsensically about a haunted house of some sort.

To those outside, this wasn't a lunch hour but a horror film. But to the students within, happily and nonchalantly enjoying their meals...It was just a daily reality. With a sigh, the human Abigail tried to ignore it as always, and downed her meal in silence...

ENTRY SEVEN - POEM - Snacky Nappy Time

What is it that makes you smile,
While learning from people older by a while?
What makes a classroom feel like a home,
When all you want to do is shake it out and roam?

In the midst of chaos of holiday cheer,
Hearts cut out by a whimsical sheer,
Sugar coats our throats so lame
It won't teach a lover's name.

Give me a nap, give me a snack
Give me a breather from making my head wrack
Wreck my mind with sweets and sleep,
For nothing more can make me feel love so deep.

For this is not the season of love,
But a reminder of children in the clouds above.

ENTRY EIGHT - POEM [?] - Looking Back

Do you remember your school days? All of them or none?
I remember a few- not many, but some.
I remember the friends I had,
I remember a teacher or two...
But somehow the one I absolutely can't forget is you!
I remember how I often wondered,
"Were we really the same age?"
Somehow I thought you were always flipping
Back at times, a page.
You made so many jokes,
I didn't know what to do.
Somehow I could never quite
Take my eye off you!
You teased and you taunted,
But even as I thing back...
There was never any malice,

But were you hoping for something back...?

ENTRY NINE - SHORT STORY - He Needed Some Extra Time...

My first crush was in fifth grade. Of course, by 'first', I mean the 'first one I can remember' since I'm old and have a poor memory. But the thing is, my first crush was a pretty...awkward guy.

We were in the same class pretty much every year of Middle School. He wasn't one of the 'cool kids' per say, but probably more of a 'jock'. As you may or may not be able to guess by the little you might know about me, I was not one of them at all. I'm as physically agile as a snail, and about as graceful as...Uh...Is there anything less graceful than me? But even though I'm a klutz, I liked this athletic guy who had a tendency to cause commotion wherever he went...Even if, sometimes, he just made me worry.

In our seventh grade year, we talked about flooding for no apparent reason during English classes. As we were asked to describe a flood from our memories if we'd been in one, I opted to express a time where my family's basement flooded. The first question he asked was, "Did you survive?"

I couldn't tell if he was serious at the time, but I think he had a liking for making me laugh. Whether it was asking silly questions like that or stealing my pen to get me to react, he was always trying to get a ruse out of me...But not like his best friend, who seemed to be one of my main bullies during those years.

In high school, we lost touch. I became less school-bound, and though I tried to talk to him online, he was distant. But somehow, even if I haven't spoken to him in years, I think I'd be able to look back with him and laugh at those bizarre times we spent in classes.

The first thing I'll ask him when I see him though, is this:
"Over the time I haven't seen you since our school days... Did you survive?"

ENTRY TEN - HAIKU - My Lost Love

She taught me English
And taught me how love does work...
But it also hurts.

ENTRY ELEVEN - HAIKU-MIX POEM - DETENTION

She waited for me
But not once stepped out the door
Due to detention.

She waited inside
Wanting me to save her so,
But I could not go...

Detention holds me,
Its embrace strong and somehow
Keeping me safe, too?

So I stay inside
The school building's great grandeur
Just to relearn love.

ENTRY TWELVE - BLURBY - Confession Failure

In my first year of high school, I was obliviously dumped by the girl I liked. It wasn't that she didn't return my love, however. It was that she didn't understand my confession!

As in all great manga confessions, I asked her to meet me behind the school...And when there, I told her as bluntly as I could that I loved her. While staring at me, she smiled. I was so excited! My love returned my feelings! But...Then she spoke, and I could almost hear my heart crack into pieces.

"Sure, I'll be your friend. Where do you want to go to play today?"

Friend? How did "I like you, so please go out with me" equal "be my friend"?! With dismay, I let it go like a fool. As she was distracted by a girl in her class, I could only hide in shame...Watching as her smile appeared far more joyous than when I told her my feelings for her.

If she only smiled for me, I'd be glad. But I can't make her happy, after all...Only she can...
